Rocky at the Art Museum

Quite a large crowd assembled on Friday night for the viewing of Rocky on the Museum steps.  This was during a contest with people racing up the steps for prizes.  They were giving out ice cream - which was all gone by the time I got there - and Wawa hoagies - which I'm not allowed to eat at the moment, so of course I really wanted one!

Shakespeare Garden in Central Park

Mom and Dad are in the background taking pictures and Chris is taking pictures of the amazing flowers.  What a wonderland!  Even in the intense heat this was a magical place to visit.  After our walk there we went to Nice Matin for dinner and then back to the Delacourte theater to see the amazing Al Pacino in The Merchant of Venice.  A truly memorable and historic evening!

New Castle

We went to the Read House Garden Party on Thursday, it was an amazingly beautiful day.  This picture is of the grasses and driftwood along the shore of the Delaware River.  The Read House has just had a major exterior renovation project and the party was in celebration of the successful conclusion.  The house is really beautiful, but I haven't had a chance to see the interior yet.  We were invited because Chris went down to consult on the interior carving in anticipation of the interior conservation which will be their next project.  Our friend lives just next door and we had a lovely cup of coffee in their living room at the close of the party.  New Castle truly is like Brigadoon.

Check out my Zwilling bread! Ok, it's really Zaro's bread, but it's still cool.

Zipper Pouches

Here is the pouch I made at Spool with Meghan Q. yesterday and the one I just made today with the opposite colors.  I made two things without messing them up, yay!  One will be for a friend, they're sort of an ode to our purple and orange friendship (she's orange, i'm purple).  This picture also shows my love of pattern.  That's the dining room wall in the background, hopefully soon to be covered with some lovely patterned wallpaper.

The View in New York

The best view I'll ever have of MoMA, doesn't it look like a dollhouse!?

Team Craft Train Ride (penultimate)

Here we are on Amtrak, somewhere in New Jersey after a great 3 day research trip to the American Craft Council Library before it gets packed up and moved off to Minneapolis.  I will be sad to see it go, especially since I just discovered it during this project.  It's just teaming with great information.  One more short trip next week and we'll see it ride off into the sunset.
Please note that Heather is actually crafting, nicely done Team Craft PMA!

Philly Skyline from the start/finish line

Watching for the ladies finish

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeannie_LongoWe saw Jeannie Longo finish in the first group today.  She's 51 and was in the first women's cycling road race in the 1984 Olympics.  Definitely an amazing person!

Ok, so you can't really see the door, but isn't the stained glass pretty?

Old Philly

I love walking down the street and discovering some awesome old architectural detail.
